Job summary

RECON is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator I to safely operate a range of earthwork equipment on our construction sites in Colorado. The role emphasizes safe work practices and daily equipment maintenance, with flexibility to operate multiple machine types as needed.

The Operator I will follow site policies, assist in safety analyses, and coordinate with the Foreman to maintain production schedules and quality on site.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in OSHA regulations regarding excavation methods and practices.
• Ability to read survey stakes for alignment and grading.
• Must be able to read, write and understand math and English.
• MSHA Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Observe and comply with site safety policies.
• Supply input to Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and JSAP updates.
• Operate heavy construction equipment safely to mitigate risk of injury, property damage, and loss of life.
• Perform daily pre-inspection and ongoing maintenance of equipment.
• Communicate with radio and signals to determine safe placement of materials.
• Work with Foreman and Superintendent to ensure quality and schedule.
