Job summary

WM is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Shawnee, KS to operate a variety of heavy machinery used for construction, demolition, soil remediation, and waste disposal at locations such as post-collection facilities and job sites.

The role emphasizes safety and efficiency, with shifts from 3AM-12PM or 11AM-9PM and a starting pay of $26 per hour, depending on experience. This position requires being at least 18 and legally eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• No education required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• Proficient in operating the minimum required equipment at an intermediate level based on site operations, which may include: Tipper, ADTs, Compactors, Wheel Loader, Various Small Equipment (such as skid steers, tractors, water truck).
• Preferred Qualifications: 1 year Previous experience operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment in compliance with the company operating safety policies and procedures.
• Conducts routine equipment inspections and minor preventative maintenance on equipment; maintains accurate records.
• Moves and positions raw materials and finished components with use of material moving equipment.
• Follow appropriate standard operating procedures as guideline for operating and maintaining vehicle.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
