Job summary

J&J Earthworks in North Carolina is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for on-site development and utility projects. You will operate excavators, bulldozers, graders, and skid steers to grade, trench, and move earth.

The role requires 3+ years of heavy equipment experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. Overtime and weekend work may be required; safety and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in civil construction.
• Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
• Strong understanding of site grading and elevations.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather.
• OSHA 10 or 30 preferred.
• GPS machine control experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, bulldozers, graders, compactors, and skid steers safely and efficiently.
• Read and follow grade stakes, blueprints, and laser/GPS layout.
• Support trenching and installation of storm, sewer, and water utilities.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Work closely with supervisors and laborers to meet production goals.
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
