HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR, Grade 61 (Full Time) – The Wilkes County Landfill is seeking applicants for a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator position. An employee in this class operates heavy equipment such as large dozers, compactors, off road trucks, motor graders, loaders, and other equipment to clear land in the landfill, spread and cover varied solid waste with dirt, compact, and to grade and landscape the landfill site or for other similar purposes. Applicant must possess considerable knowledge of the operation, maintenance, capabilities and limitations of heavy equipment and general landfill maintenance. Thursday – Saturday, three 12 hour days per week. High school education or equivalent required. Commercial Driver’s License highly preferred. Open until filled.
