Job summary

Engineering Equipment Operator position within the Facilities Management service at VA Bedford Healthcare Systems in Bedford, MA. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role working under the Grounds Supervisor to maintain and improve grounds and facilities.

Qualifications

• CDL license required.
• Unrestricted state Driver's License.
• Clean driving record for past five years.
• Evidence of training or experience showing ability to perform duties; support with resume detail.

Responsibilities

• Operates engineering equipment to improve and maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, walkways, and parking areas.
• Removes trash and debris; shovels and removes snow as required.
• Operates heavy equipment to push, load, and move materials (sand, gravel, earth, snow, refuse).
• Operates all facility-owned or rental equipment for cutting, moving, digging, grading, and rolling surfaces.
• Runs snow-removal heavy equipment and works with various attachments and tractors.
• May excavate and backfill for trails, roads, or construction projects; adjusts attachments as needed.
