Heavy Equipment Operator – Erosion Control Ready Field Solutions

Location: Bethesda, OH

Pay: $23-28/hour, based on experience

Ready Field Solutions is hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support erosion control, land reclamation, grading, and site-preparation projects.

This position is ideal for someone with strong excavator and skid‑steer experience who is comfortable working on steep slopes, uneven terrain, and active construction or oil and gas sites.

Operators also assist with erosion-control installation and general groundwork when equipment is not in use. Some travel to project sites is required, with lodging and meal support provided for qualifying assignments.

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate excavators, skid steers, and related heavy equipment
• Perform grading, earthmoving, land reclamation, and site-preparation work
• Operate equipment on steep slopes and challenging terrain, including 2:1 slopes
• Install silt fence, super silt fence, filter sock, and other erosion-control materials
• Assist with site stabilization and general field work
• Complete daily equipment inspections and report mechanical concerns
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe equipment and job sites
• Follow company, client, and site-specific safety requirements
• Work closely with Site Foremen, supervisors, and crew members

Qualifications

• At least 2–3 years of excavator and skid‑steer operating experience
• Experience with grading, excavation, earthmoving, reclamation, or site preparation
• Experience operating equipment on steep slopes or uneven terrain
• Willingness to assist with physical groundwork in addition to operating equipment
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
• Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a field crew
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Availability for early starts, overtime, 12-hour shifts, and occasional weekend work
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed

Preferred Experience

• Oil and gas, pipeline, environmental, or erosion-control work
• Direct experience working on 2:1 slopes
• Silt fence, super silt fence, or filter-sock installation
• Land reclamation or right-of-way work
• CDL A or CDL B
• Crew‑lead experience

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands‑on field position. Employees must be able to:

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach throughout the workday
• Safely enter and exit heavy equipment
• Work on steep slopes and uneven terrain
• Use hand tools and erosion-control installation equipment
• Lift and carry tools and materials weighing up to 100 pounds, with heavier lifting team-assisted or reasonably accommodated
• Work around noise, dust, vibration, traffic, and active construction or oil and gas sites
• Wear required PPE, including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel‑toed boots
