Do you have experience operating heavy construction equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, excavators, or loaders? Do you want to learn the drilling and blasting industry with a stable, growing, majority employee-owned company? If yes, we want to meet you!

Hourly Rate: $20 - $22 per hour, plus travel stipend!

Responsibilities
  • Follow instructions provided by Superintendents, Blasting Supervisors, or Drill Operators.
  • Maintain safety awareness and work well in varying weather conditions.
  • Travel out of town and work overtime as required.
  • Perform daily maintenance for safe and efficient equipment operation.
  • Follow Company Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Learn and execute drill patterns and terminology as established by the Blaster Foreman.
  • Inventory accessories, understand their costs, and perform maintenance.
  • Communicate problems and terrain conditions to the Blaster/Foreman.
  • Complete and submit paperwork such as drill reports, hole sheets, and timecards accurately and timely.
  • Maintain physical agility.
  • Coordinate supplies with the Blaster.
  • Carry tools and supplies as needed.
  • Participate in meetings: Foreman's, Safety, Job-specific, Daily Heads-Up.
  • Complete Driller I training within the designated period.
  • Work independently while maintaining urgency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
About You
Qualifications

Experience with equipment operation (earth-moving, farm, timber harvesting, etc.) is helpful.
Valid Driver's License with own transportation.
Experience as construction laborer.
Strong common sense regarding equipment and machinery operation.
Mechanical aptitude based on past experience with motors, hydraulics, electrical systems, preferred.
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Successful background screening for ATF.

Physical Requirements

Perform essential functions of the position.
Lift 50-100 lbs. 30-40% of the time.
Work on uneven, loose surfaces in varying weather.
Stooping and bending 30-40% of the time.
Maintain physical agility.
