Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc. in Gainesville, VA is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee (Construction). You will operate heavy equipment, learn drilling and blasting under supervision, and support safety procedures.

Out-of-town travel and overtime may be required with training opportunities and competitive benefits including ESOP, health/dental/vision, and 401(k) plan. Earn $22.00–$24.00 per hour (DOE), plus a $150 weekly travel allowance, paid overnight travel, and a daily meal

Qualifications

Equipment operating experience is helpful.
Valid Driver's License with own transportation.
Experience as construction laborer.
Mechanical aptitude based on past experience around equipment.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Must successfully complete a background screening for ATF.

Responsibilities

Perform daily maintenance for safe, efficient operation of assigned equipment.
Adhere to Safety Policies and Procedures.
Learn drill patterns and terminology and execute drill patterns as established by the Blaster Foreman.
Inventory accessories and understand costs and maintenance of drill accessories.
Communicate problems and terrain conditions to the Blaster/Foreman.
Complete drill reports, hole sheets, and a signed timecard.
