Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation seeks an experienced Equipment Operator to handle power construction equipment for excavation, loading, and grading tasks on our projects in Newnan, Georgia. You will operate multiple machines, document maintenance, and coordinate with crew members to meet project specs.

The role requires NCCER certifications, several years of operating experience, and a valid CDL where applicable. Safety and pre-employment checks are integral to on-site work and daily operations.

Qualifications

• Multiple years of working experience as an equipment operator or a combination of experience and education.
• Must have working knowledge of operating limitations and safe work practices for each piece of equipment.
• A copy of the Medical Examiner's Certificate must be on file before operation begins.
• CDL is required when equipment will be operated on public roads.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Pre-employment onboarding may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Responsibilities

• Operate power construction equipment (e.g., RT backhoe, Loader, Trencher, Track hoe, RT forklift, etc.) to excavate, move, and grade material.
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance; document logs.
• Coordinate machine actions with other crew members and site activities.
• Ensure safety procedures, tagging, and load limits are followed.
• Identify hazards and stop work as needed; maintain equipment and records.
