Job summary

Savage is seeking an Equipment Operator in Wellington, CO to safely operate coal-handling equipment and support daily plant operations. The role requires experience with heavy machinery and strict adherence to safety programs.

You will perform inspections, operate loaders and dozers, and assist with routine maintenance while following established procedures and safety standards. Benefits include uniforms, PTO, holidays, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• 5+ years of experience.
• Experience operating D8 dozers, front-end loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment.
• Positive, safety-minded attitude.
• Willing to work any shift, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English, follow written and/or verbal instruction, and possess basic math and computer skills.
• Work with a team, take direction from supervisors, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
• Must be able to clear a criminal background check.
• Class C Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Heavy Industrial Equipment for stockpiling coal and maintaining roads.
• Perform daily inspections of equipment for safety and operational deficiencies.
• Perform basic tasks in the operation of the Coal handling system.
• Execute general maintenance on mobile equipment, conveyor systems, crushers, and train unloading systems.
• Actively participate in Savage’s safety programs.
