Position Overview:

Acadiana Shell & Limestone, Inc., a well-established and locally owned construction company, is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator with experience operating dozers, motor graders, and excavators. The ideal candidate will have expertise in installing culverts to grade, building house pads, and performing construction site work to grade. This role requires precision, safety, and a strong understanding of construction practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, motor graders, and excavators to perform tasks including grading, excavating, leveling, and material movement.
• Install culverts to grade with accuracy and efficiency.
• Build house pads and perform construction site work to grade according to project specifications.
• Ensure equipment is operated safely and in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-operation checks and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating dozers, motor graders, and excavators.
• Familiarity with installing culverts to grade and proficiency in building house pads and construction site work to grade.
• Strong understanding of construction site protocols and equipment safety.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and grade stakes.
• CDL License is a Plus, but not required.
• Must be at least 25 years old.
• Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening.
• A strong work ethic and commitment to quality work.
