Job description



Schmidt Construction part of the Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Loader Operator to work at our Castle Rock, CO location. The Loader Operator supports our asphalt plant operations. This role is responsible for safely operating a front-end loader to move and load aggregate materials, maintain stockpiles, and keep material bins full to ensure steady plant production. This is a key position in our yard crew, working closely with plant operators and truck drivers to keep everything running smoothly.





Pay: $25-28/hr


Shift/Schedule: 7am-5pm (Occasional Nights and Weekends)

Responsibilities




The Loader Operator will:



  • Operate a front-end loader to load materials into the asphalt plant and trucks

  • Communicate with plant and yard crews to ensure efficient material flow

  • Maintain and organize material stockpiles

  • Load trucks with the correct materials without contamination while complying with the legal weight limit for the trucks

  • Inspecting machines and equipment to identify possible malfunctions

  • Keep the work area clean and tidy

  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment (e.g. greasing, oiling, fueling, inspecting breaks, tires, seals and bearings.)

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor





Skills


The ideal candidate will have:



  • Prior experience operating a loader (preferably in a plant or yard setting)

  • Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Knowledge and ability to operate heavy equipment

  • Knowledge of truck hauling capacities as well as loading and unloading procedures

  • Knowledge of equipment (e.g., conveyor lines, crusher, hot plant, and trucks)

  • Knowledge of materials and specification requirements

  • Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb or crawl under or on top of equipment

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format individually and in group settings

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions

  • Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Valid license
