Job summary

The Heavy Equipment Operator role with the City of Dallas involves operating and maintaining heavy machinery for city facilities, utilities, roads, and sewer systems across multiple sites in all weather conditions.

This position requires at least four years of equipment operator experience and a valid Class A CDL with a good driving record. Texas licenses and endorsements are preferred; out-of-state CDLs must obtain Texas CDL within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience as an equipment operator with at least two (2) years operating heavy equipment.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Texas Driver's License with good driving record.
• TCEQ License preferred for Water.
• Other Texas heavy equipment endorsements highly preferred.
• CDL issued by another state requires Texas CDL within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Operates, drives, and maintains heavy construction equipment for city projects and utilities.
• Maintains roads and sewer systems; disposes of waste and performs excavation work safely.
• Completes work orders and ensures adherence to safety protocols.
