Job summary

The Town of Dennis seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator with a valid Massachusetts CDL and a Hoisting Engineer License with a 2A endorsement. The role involves operating heavy equipment for public works, maintenance, and emergency responses after hours in various weather conditions.

Starting hourly range is $27.40-$33.90. Union position under MLDC; outdoor work in all weather, high physical effort, and reporting for emergencies. AA/EOE.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency required.
• Massachusetts CDL required.
• Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer License with a minimum 2A endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment for construction and maintenance of public property.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment.
• Perform basic labor requiring strenuous physical effort.
• Respond to emergencies during evenings, weekends, and holidays, including plowing and sanding operations.
