Job summary

Collin County Government is seeking an Equipment Operator to perform asphalt and concrete repairs, operate heavy equipment, and support field crews under the Foreman. The role requires focused safety practices and the ability to follow directions in a dynamic public works environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of heavy equipment experience, a valid Texas Class A CDL, and be able to pass pre-employment screenings and a background check.

Qualifications

• Must understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
• Must have at least two (2) years of experience operating and working with heavy equipment.
• Must have a level of education equivalent to four years of high school.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operates various types of equipment for transportation of personnel, supplies and other equipment.
• Operates heavy construction equipment to make asphalt and concrete repairs.
• Serves as a member of the first response team that assists in emergencies such as snow, ice and storm damage debris removal.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
