Job summary

AIS Infrastructure Group is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate and maintain heavy construction machinery on civil infrastructure projects. The role requires reading plans, adhering to safety policies, and coordinating with project teams to meet schedules.

Candidates should have 5+ years of heavy equipment experience, a strong understanding of construction practices, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience operating heavy construction equipment, with emphasis on bulldozers.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, grades, and project specs.
• Experience using GPS machine control systems and other construction technologies.
• Knowledge of equipment safety standards, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy construction equipment (excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, scrapers, compactors).
• Read project plans and supervisor instructions to complete work accurately and efficiently.
• Conduct pre-/post-shift inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Perform routine maintenance and report mechanical issues.
• Safely load, transport, and unload materials per procedures.
• Coordinate equipment activities with supervisors and teams to meet schedules.
• Maintain equipment records and maintenance documentation.
• Assist with additional construction-related tasks as needed.
