Job summary

Barriere Construction, a CRH Company, based in Louisiana, is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Construction Group and support asphalt heavy highway construction projects. The role requires operating a range of equipment safely, performing daily inspections, and maintaining daily production standards.

You will work outdoors in varying weather conditions, communicate with QC staff, and ensure safety protocols are followed while optimizing jobsite efficiency and equipment

Qualifications

• Must have minimum of 3 years experience in the road or construction field, working outdoors in extreme weather.
• Be able to read, understand and write simple sentences, and perform simple mathematical equations.

Responsibilities

• Operating a variety of equipment including motor graders, excavators, front end loaders, rubber-tire backhoes, and dozers.
• Advanced knowledge and ability to operate in the functions and limits of the type of equipment you are operating.
• Guide placement of equipment, spotters, and trucks to perform the required task safely and efficiently.
• Checking grades, yields, and communicating with QC smoothness and densities.
• Ability to use 3D automated machine controls.
• Keeps equipment and site housekeeping clean.
• Assesses daily job and production plans for efficiencies and potential safety concerns.
• Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all equipment
• Performing other duties on the jobsite when not operating equipment
• Following all safety protocol
