Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is hiring an Apprentice for Construction Equipment Operator duties. The role supports critical infrastructure projects; extensive on-site training will be provided, including classroom and hands-on instruction.

Applicants must have 2.25–3 years of operator experience or 4501–6000 hours, hold a CDL if operating on public roads, and be 18+. Pre-employment checks may be required before onboarding.

Qualifications

• 2.25 - 3 years' experience or 4501 - 6000 hours as an equipment operator.
• CDL required when equipment will be operated on public roads.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, MVR) may apply.

Responsibilities

• Safety and work habits; attendance and reliability.
• Operate heavy-duty construction equipment and machinery as trained.
• Review blueprints, plans, and diagrams to identify work requirements.
• Locate underground services prior to beginning work.
• Load, move, and unload materials and equipment as needed.
• Inspect, clean, and service tools and equipment.
• Follow lift plans and adhere to safety protocols.
