Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a motivated individual to join our Des Moines Portable Team. The role involves operating a variety of heavy equipment—haul truck, motor grader, water truck, crane—moving raw materials from pit to plant at maximum loading capacity.

The position is based out of Winterset, IA with travel across Central Iowa and Eastern Nebraska to support other plants. Work-life balance is highlighted, with a 3‑day work week and compensation that includes an hourly wage, drive time pay,

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate multiple mobile equipment including haul truck, motor grader, water truck, loader and crane.
• Will train right candidate; prior experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate various heavy equipment to move raw materials from pit to plant at maximum loading capacity.
• Assist in plant repairs and clean-up.
• Perform pre-shift safety inspections on equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and report needed repairs to shop personnel.
• Maintain good housekeeping of equipment.
• Adhere to MSHA and plant safety rules and regulations.
• Perform duties with minimum supervision.
