Job summary

Circular Services is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate loaders and trucks to manufacture compost and other soil amendments. You will feed shredders, grinders, and screens, and prepare daily production reports while ensuring compliance with safety policies.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, a valid state driver's license, and 1+ year of heavy equipment experience. The role includes outdoor work in various weather conditions and opportunities for skill

Responsibilities

• Load products onto roll-off containers or walking-floor trailers.
• Complete and upload daily production reports.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all safety policies and report hazards immediately.
• Work closely with drivers, operators, and team members.
• Participate in training to grow skills and improve performance.
• Handle other duties to support daily operations.

About the Role:

The Heavy Equipment Operator will safely operate heavy equipment, such as loaders and trucks, to manufacture compost and other soil amendments.

• Safely operate heavy equipment to move materials and feed shredders, grinders, and screens
• Load products onto roll-off containers or walking-floor trailers
• Complete and upload daily production reports
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• Identifying common mechanical issues and reporting malfunctions or damage for repairs

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• OSHA 10 or higher certificate
• One (1) year or more years of experience operating grinders and/or shredders
• Experience in the compost industry preferred
• Basic awareness of federal, state, and local job site health and safety rules, regulations, and best practices
• Strong understanding of surroundings to operate safely near workers, vehicles, and obstacles
• Communicate effectively with team members and external customers
• Ability to quickly adjust methods or paths based on terrain, obstructions, or material behavior
• Committed to maintaining productivity and safety

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Normal work environment is outdoors, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.

Hours can range from Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm, including weekends, with some variations per business demands.
