Job summary

Circular Services is seeking an Equipment Operator in Normal, IL to support daily recycling and production operations by safely operating forklifts, industrial balers, and automated equipment. The role requires attention to safety, basic maintenance, and accurate production reporting.

Shift is Monday–Friday 2:30 PM–11:00 PM with occasional Saturdays; pay is $19.00 per hour plus a $3.00 shift differential ($22.00). Benefits include FSA, vacation, 401k matching, EAP, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Driver’s License (if applicable).
• Must be able to read, speak, and write basic English.
• Mechanical aptitude
• Previous experience operating industrial machinery
• Experience in the Recycling industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates forklifts, industrial balers, and automated equipment.
• Performs basic preventative maintenance on balers and equipment.
• Monitors material flow and ensures safe operation.
• Provides daily baler production reports to plan operations.
• Maintains clean, safe work environment and complies with regulations.

About the Role:

The Baler/Forklift Operator is responsible for supporting daily recycling and production operations by safely operating forklifts, industrial balers, and automated equipment. This role ensures the efficient movement and processing of materials, performs routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance, monitors product quality, and maintains a clean and safe work environment. The operator works closely with operations teams to maximize operational efficiency, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with all company policies and safety regulations.

• Monitor the flow of materials ensuring they are loaded correctly into the baler

• Properly utilize balers and bunkers to ensure single stream processing is not interrupted.
• Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area including equipment and work areas.
• Maintain timely, appropriate, and professional communications with plan operations, maintenance department, and baler supervisor.
• Provide daily baler production reports to plan operations.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

The normal work environment is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring necessary precautions, including PPE
