Heavy Equipment Operator

The Heavy Equipment Operator executes packaging, shipping, and transporting turbine blades/components and supports the factory with all heavy equipment needs. Operates various heavy equipment required to store, distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products within establishments. Works with a 6-person team coordinating movements of heavy equipment used to transport products to and from storage locations. Rigs and lifts using cranes to place in transport frames/load onto rail/truck transports.

Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment including but not limited to Class 1-7 equipment, 40+ Ton Mobile Gantry Crane, 50+ Ton Reach Stacker/Container Handler, 20+ Ton Forklift, and others, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Perform daily safety inspections on equipment and rigging, maintaining inspection records.
• Move blades to and from production areas; prepare blades for shipping including documentation; load blades onto trains and trucks for shipment; direct blade transporters.
• Clear snow from walkways and yards.
• Drive company vehicle for errands and transporting items.
• Review production schedules and documentation to determine items to move or distribute.
• Maintain inspection records, create shipment manifests, and manage inventory records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

• Operate all heavy equipment safely according to legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Climb 8' ladders and work in extreme weather conditions.
• Wear required PPE and follow safety protocols.
• Attend reliably and lift up to 55 lbs, exert push/pull force of 100 lbs.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred certifications: Rigger level 1, Heavy Equipment Operations, Mobile Crane, Rail/truck transport knowledge.
• Valid state driver’s license.

Schedule:

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Saturday, 5:45 pm - 6:15 am (Blue Shift).

Pay Range:

$25.50 - $30.00 per hour ($3.00 night shift differential).
