Saiia Construction, a MasTec company, is hiring Heavy Equipment Operators in Wilsonville, AL.

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, graders, dump trucks, front-end loaders, compactors, scrapers, and water trucks to move materials to and from designated areas. The role also involves participating in required training and ensuring compliance with all safety rules, procedures, policies, OSHA, and MSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

1. Excavator Operation: Operate excavators to dig trenches, holes, and transport earth, gravel, and other materials. Use hydraulic controls and possibly GPS technology.
2. Bulldozer - Grader Operation: Use bulldozers or graders to level and distribute materials, clear land, and prepare construction sites, possibly utilizing GPS technology.
3. Front-End Loader Operation: Operate loaders to lift and transport bulk materials, loading trucks and stockpiling materials.
4. Compactor Operation: Use rollers to compact soil, rock, and industrial materials, ensuring proper compaction for construction needs.
5. Scraper / Tractor Operation: Operate tractors and scrapers to move earth, grade sites, and control loading mechanisms.
6. Water Truck Operation: Transport and spray water to control dust and support construction activities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, MSHA, and other regulations.
• Ability to interpret safety and operational documents.
• Proficiency with email, smartphones, tablets, or computers.
• Ability to draft routine reports and maintain acceptable attendance.
