Job summary

Dietzel Enterprises Inc. is seeking a skilled heavy equipment operator to support commercial and industrial projects across the Midwest.

You will travel from Valley, Nebraska to job sites, operating excavators, skid steer loaders, and reach forklifts with a Class A CDL. Perform excavation, grading, site preparation, and material handling while coordinating with supervisors and field crews to maintain production schedules.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Class A CDL and extensive heavy equipment experience.
• 5+ years of construction/heavy equipment operating preferred.
• Strong excavator and skid loader experience; reach forklift experience a plus.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision; strong safety mindset.
• Willingness to travel 4–5 week assignments; overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Travel from Valley, Nebraska to Midwest commercial/industrial sites.
• Independently operate excavators, skid loaders, and reach forklifts.
• Perform excavation, grading, site preparation, and material handling.
• Support concrete construction and other commercial activities.
• Drive company vehicles with Class A CDL; select equipment per daily needs.
• Coordinate with supervisors and field crews to maintain production schedules.
• Identify and address job-site and equipment safety concerns; follow procedures.
• Work in varied outdoor conditions across multiple locations.
• Use smartphones/digital tools for communication and reporting.
• Support field operations from mobilization to project completion; overtime as required.

Your New Role

• Travel from Valley, Nebraska to commercial and industrial construction projects throughout the Midwest

• Independently operate excavators, skid loaders, and reach forklifts

• Perform excavation, grading, site preparation, and material-handling work

• Support concrete construction and other commercial construction activities

• Drive company vehicles utilizing your Class A CDL

• Select and operate the appropriate equipment based on daily project needs

• Coordinate with supervisors and field crews to maintain production schedules

• Identify job-site and equipment safety concerns and follow company procedures

• Work in varying outdoor conditions across multiple project locations

• Use smartphone applications for communication, scheduling, and project documentation

• Support field operations from mobilization through project completion

• Work overtime as required by project schedules

• Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions

• 5+ years of construction and heavy equipment operating experience preferred

• Strong excavator operating experience

• Strong skid loader operating experience

• Experience operating reach forklifts

• Demonstrated experience with excavation, grading, and site preparation

• Commercial or industrial construction experience preferred

• Concrete construction experience strongly preferred

• Ability to operate equipment with limited day-to-day supervision

• Ability and willingness to travel for assignments typically lasting 4 to 5 weeks

• Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed

• Comfortable using smartphones and digital reporting tools

• Strong safety awareness, dependability, and communication skills
