We are seeking a motivated, safety-conscious individual to operate heavy equipment on a grade crew. Equipment may include a Front End Loader, Bulldozer, or Motor Grader.

Description

The selected candidate will work in a team environment alongside co-workers and managers, performing the following duties:

1. Smooth and adjust grade and finishes before compaction.
2. Safely and efficiently operate various sizes of heavy equipment used in road, site, or highway construction and paving.
3. Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
4. Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the Foreman.
5. Conduct daily pre- and post-inspections with appropriate documentation, in compliance with company policies.
6. Assist with tasks such as shoveling asphaltic materials and maintaining asphalt finishing machines, including adding or removing screed extensions.
7. Follow the Foreman’s directions regarding daily tasks and project-specific expectations.
8. Perform general labor duties as needed.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
10. Driver’s license preferred.

Work Requirements

This role involves physical activities such as stretching, bending, lifting (regularly 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds), pushing, pulling, twisting, walking, standing (about 50% of the day), reaching, and squatting. Overtime may be required. The work environment may include exposure to extreme hot or cold weather and vehicular traffic. Transportation to and from job sites is required. The duties described are not exhaustive and may be supplemented.

Education/Experience

- Minimum high school diploma or GED preferred.

- Prior experience in construction or related training is required.

- Ability to work any shift and in Georgia and South Carolina depending on project needs. Shift differentials may apply.
