Job summary

Eccard Excavating, LLC is seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Central Ohio team. You will safely operate excavators, bulldozers, skid loaders, rollers, and other equipment, perform site work and utility installations, and read plans while working outdoors in all weather.

A team-first attitude and willingness to overtime are essential. Class A CDL is preferred or you must be willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Ability to read plans and understand grades.
• Class A CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Willingness to work weekly overtime and pass a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, skid loaders and rollers.
• Perform site work and utility installation.
• Read and interpret construction plans, understand grade setting, and work from stakes.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Eccard Excavating, LLC is a growing, family-owned excavation company specializing in site work and utilities throughout Central Ohio. We offer the close‑kith, family atmosphere of a small company combined with the equipment, organization, and opportunity you’d expect from a much larger operation.

We are currently seeking a Full‑Time Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team.

What You’ll Do:

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment including:
  
  
  
  • Excavators
  
  
  • Bulldozers
  
  
  • Skid loaders
  
  
  • Rollers
  
  
  • Etc (various other equipment as needed).
  
  
  
  


• Perform site work and utility installation on a variety of projects.


• Read and interpret construction plans, understand grade setting, and work from stakes.


• Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.


• Be a team player—willing to step in and help where needed to keep projects moving.


• Maintain equipment and follow all company safety procedures.

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.


• Ability to read plans and understand grades.


• Class A CDL preferred, or a willingness to obtain.


• Strong work ethic with a team-first mindset.


• Willingness to work weekly overtime.


• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug test.
