Responsibilities

  • Operate a range of heavy equipment (e.g., loaders, forklifts) safely.

  • Follow jobsite safety procedures and adhere to OSHA regulations.

  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and logistics personnel.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a range of heavy equipment (e.g., loaders, forklifts, overhead crane/hoist) in a safe and productive manner.
  • Load structural steel onto trailers, rig and secure loads, and assist with shipping operations.
  • Perform pre‑shift inspections, daily maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs of equipment.
  • Work closely with crew members in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Follow all jobsite safety procedures, wear required PPE, and adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions; be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs or more as required.
  • Operate overhead cranes and hoists safely, including rigging and signaling, in coordination with the shipping/logistics team.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, inspections, and hours when required.
  • Communicate clearly both orally and in writing with supervisors, crew members, and logistics/shipping personnel.
  • Participate in drug testing, as required for safety‑sensitive roles.
