Job summary

Fisher Industries seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate skid steers, loaders, dozers, crushers, or excavators on projects across Arizona. You will service and maintain equipment daily and work on challenging terrains, including mountainous and rocky sites.

Travel throughout Arizona is required. Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to lift 80 lb, and basic welding/cutting torch knowledge.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate heavy equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and welding/cutting torch knowledge is preferred.
• MSHA Part 46/48 certification or willingness to obtain; company pays for certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate skid steer, loader, dozer, crusher, or excavator to meet production goals.
• Assist with plant setup and tear down; perform pre-shift inspections.
• Conduct daily maintenance and housekeeping of equipment and plants; lift up to 80 lb as needed.
• Work safely according to MSHA and company policies; travel across Arizona.

POSITION SCOPE

The Heavy Equipment Operator must be able to operate a skid steer, loader, dozer, crusher, or excavator according to project specifications. The individual will be responsible for servicing and maintaining equipment daily. Job site includes working on mountainous terrain, pioneer mountains, steep rocky terrain.

This position does require travel throughout Arizona.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Operate equipment efficiently to maintain production goals
• Assist with setup and tear down of plants
• Perform general maintenance, repair, and service equipment as required or directed by supervisor
• General housekeeping of equipment and plants daily or as directed by supervisor
• Individuals must be able to lift objects weighing 80 lb. on a regular basis
• The use of a shovel to move material will be necessary
• Perform all duties within safety guidelines set up by M.S.H.A. and company policy
• Perform pre‑shift inspections on equipment prior to startup
• Safety, Safety, Safety - comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards of safety
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Able to operate equipment efficiently to maintain project specifications
• Mechanical knowledge of equipment and being able to perform routine maintenance
• Basic knowledge of welding and using a cutting torch
• Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy is required
• MSHA part 46 and/or part 48 or willingness to obtain certification - company will pay for certification
• Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat above 100 degrees, cold, rain, and snow
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug test is required
• Work well in a team environment
• Travel will be required
