The Heavy Equipment Operator is directly responsible for safely and efficiently operating and maintaining the large earth moving equipment used in the extraction of limestone for a crushing and screening processing plant. This position performs the operations of Bulldozer, Loader Operator, Haul Truck, Grader Water Truck, and other equipment as assigned. The incumbent should operate all equipment in a safe and most efficient manner while making every attempt to keep up with whatever rate is needed to keep raw material feed for continuous operation of the plant, mining operations, stockpiling, or material hauling. Individuals in this role are responsible for keeping a clean and safe workplace and letting management know promptly of any hazards that the incumbent may encounter at the operation.
Must be physically able to perform work assigned. Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels. Will be working at times in covered environment but mainly in mining environment. The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Mineral Particles. The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing, and sitting. Ability to consistently lift over 40 pounds as needed.
High School Diploma, GED Equivalent, or demonstrated skills or ability.
Technical training or AA degree in technical related field is desired.
Previous heavy manufacturing and/or mining experience is highly preferred.
