M&M Recycling is a family-owned metal recycling company and industry leader since 1986. We run fast-paced, high-volume scrap metal yards where safety, skill, and teamwork drive everything we do. We believe great equipment operators are critical to a safe and productive yard. Our best operators take pride in their machines, their work, and the people working around them.

The Opportunity

As a Heavy Equipment Operator at M&M Recycling, you will be a key driver of daily production. You will use your experience on wheel loaders and skid steers to keep material moving, keep processing equipment fed, and maintain an organized, safe yard. This role is ideal for an experienced operator who wants more than just “seat time” – someone who anticipates what the yard needs next, cares about doing the job right, and wants to grow with a stable, well-respected recycling company.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain clean, organized piles and support steady yard flow from open to close.
  • Communicate clearly with ground crews using radios and hand signals, stopping equipment immediately when a hazard appears.
What Success Looks Like
  • Processing equipment stays fed and productive because you keep material flowing without bottlenecks.
  • Scrap is sorted accurately the first time, with piles organized and properly staged for shipping or further processing.
  • Daily pre- and post-shift inspections are completed, and equipment issues are reported immediately and clearly.
  • You operate with constant awareness of your surroundings and never sacrifice safety for production speed.
What We're Looking For
  • At least 3 years of heavy equipment operation in a scrap yard or similar heavy-material-handling environment.
  • Hands-on experience operating wheel loaders and skid steers, with a strong safety record.
  • Ability to handle and sort ferrous and non-ferrous material in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
  • Team-focused attitude, dependable attendance, and willingness to follow direction from yard leadership.
