Job summary

Wolverine Lawn Services in Michigan is hiring Heavy Equipment Operators for the upcoming winter season to perform commercial snow removal at properties. Work is seasonal and on-call with most shifts overnight or third shift, depending on weather.

Operate loaders and skid steers, follow site plans, conduct safety inspections, monitor equipment, and communicate with dispatch. A valid driver's license and reliable transport are required, and prior snow removal experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating loaders, skid steers, or similar heavy equipment.
• Snow removal experience preferred.
• Strong spatial awareness and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work in snow, ice, darkness, and low-visibility conditions.
• Reliable and able to report promptly when called for snow or ice events.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a coordinated team.

Responsibilities

• Operate loaders, skid steers, and other assigned heavy equipment to clear, push, pile, and relocate snow at commercial properties
• Follow site maps and operational plans to ensure thorough and efficient snow removal
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections to ensure safe operation
• Monitor equipment fuel, fluids, tires, and warning lights during shifts
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and Zone Leaders throughout each event
• Complete service logs and upload required site photos as directed
• Protect buildings, vehicles, landscaping, and other property features from damage
• Maintain safe and professional work practices at all times

Compensation

$24–$35 per hour, based on experience and equipment operated. This is a seasonal, weather-dependent, on-call position. Shift lengths and weekly hours will vary depending on winter weather conditions, with extended shifts possible during major storms.
