Job summary

Gray & Son Inc. in Dundalk, MD is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for dozer, excavator, loader, backhoe and grader roles. You will perform daily maintenance checks and operate attachments to move earth and material.

Responsibilities include aligning machines per stakes and signals, loading materials with various equipment, attending morning huddles with Foremen, and performing other duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience preferred for sign-on bonus eligibility.
• Experience operating dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes and graders.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment greasing, morning walk-arounds and fluid checks with complete maintenance checklist.
• Operate attachments such as blades, buckets, scrapers and swing brooms using controls and levers.
• Align and position machines according to stakes, signals, and directions from crew.
• Load and move dirt, rocks, and materials using heavy equipment and support vehicles.
• Attend morning huddles with Foremen/Superintendents and participate in toolbox talks.
• Other duties as assigned by Foreman or Superintendent.

Join our Grading and Utility teams as a Heavy Equipment Operator, where your skills will drive the success of large-scale projects!

We are looking for experienced equipment operators for the following roles:

$3,000 sign on bonus if you have at least 2 years of experience!

• Dozer Operators
• Excavator Operator
• Loader Operators
• Backhoe Operators
• Grader Operators

Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily equipment greasing, morning "walk arounds" and fluid checks. Complete daily maintenance checklist to ensure your equipment is properly maintained, and to ensure the proper preservation of equipment maintenance records.
• Adjust hand wheels and depress pedals to control attachments such as blades, buckets, scrapers, and swing brooms. Start engines, move throttles, switches and levers, and depresses pedals to operate machines such as bulldozers, excavators, graders and backhoes.
• Align machines, cutter heads, or depth gauge makers with reference stakes and guidelines or ground, or position equipment following hand signals of other workers. Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
• Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, and materials, using trucks, tractors, power cranes, shovels, graders, and related equipment. Drive and maneuver equipment equipped with blades in successive passes over working areas to remove topsoil, vegetation, and rocks, and to distribute and level earth or terrain.
• Willingly attend and support Foremen/Superintendents during morning huddles and toolbox talks.
• Other duties as assigned as assigned by your Foreman or Superintendent.
