Job summary

Amrize in Dundalk, MD is seeking a relief operator to support grinding operations and quality testing. You will operate heavy equipment, load bulk trucks, and use billing/utility systems while covering shifts and coordinating work as needed.

Successful candidates will follow safety protocols, participate in PPE use, and maintain plant process knowledge. High school diploma or equivalent is required, with an Associate's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to use a computer and learn new software to operate the mill.

• Knowledge of plant processes, quality and production requirements.

Job description

To operate the grinding system, run accurate quality tests, operate heavy equipment, load bulk trucks, use-billing system, perform utility function or other duties as assigned for shift coverage. On occasion, in the absence of a shift supervisor, the relief operator will also be responsible for coordinating shift work as necessary or assessing plant needs, including acting as lead-hand to ensure mil operations continue.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or 2 years of equivalent experience

Additional Education Preferred: Associate's Degree

Required Computer and Software Skills: The applicant must be able to use a computer and have general working knowledge, as well as ability to learn new software programs as required to operate programs as required to operate the mill and other essential functions.

Additional Requirements:

• The applicant must be able to take initiative to diagnose /or correct mill operation issues without necessarily being asked or told to do so.
• The employee must be required to be knowledgeable of the plant process, quality and production requirements.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
