The role involves operating haul trucks and performing various maintenance tasks while ensuring safety standards are met. URGENT HIRING: Heavy Equipment Operator (Haul Truck Driver) – Underground Mine
The Advance Group is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators (Haul Truck Drivers) for a direct hire opportunity to transport salt and materials in an underground mining environment in the Detroit area. Candidates must be safety-conscious and able to operate haul trucks and other equipment effectively in a physically demanding setting.
Shifts Available:
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Mon-Fri)
Mid-shift: 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Mon-Fri)
Night Shift: 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Thurs-Mon)
Key Responsibilities
Operate haul trucks and other heavy equipment underground in accordance with all safety standards
Load, haul, and unload materials efficiently and safely
Perform basic maintenance such as greasing, fluid checks, and changing screens and guards
Assist with maintenance tasks as directed by maintenance personnel
Maintain a clean and safe work area through routine housekeeping
Complete all required paperwork and production records accurately and on time
Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members about safety and production issues
Perform other duties and operate various equipment as needed within the mine
Requirements
Experience with heavy equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, forklifts, front end loaders,or skid steers preferred
Previous underground mining experience a plus
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
Must pass a drug test and physical exam
Strong attention to safety and ability to follow all MSHA regulations
Valid drivers license required
High school diploma or GED preferred
Must be dependable and able to work the assigned shift and schedule consistently
Working Conditions
Must be able to work underground and in varying temperatures year-round
Must comply with and wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
