Job summary

Millcreek Metals is seeking a driven Heavy Equipment Operator to keep materials flowing and the yard running smoothly. You will operate heavy equipment, load and unload trucks, and move scrap materials for processing and recycling, while adhering to safety protocols and delivering a WOW customer experience.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and a strong work ethic, with duties spanning equipment inspections and collaboration with maintenance and drivers to keep operations efficient.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of heavy equipment experience.
• Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments preferred.
• Safety-first mentality and adherence to protocols.
• Physically capable (lifting up to 50 lbs, entering/exiting equipment).
• Reliable, dependable and team-oriented.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to jump in where needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (material handlers, loaders, forklifts, skid steers, etc.).
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
• Move and organize scrap materials for processing and recycling.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure safety.
• Identify maintenance issues and communicate with maintenance team.
• Follow safety protocols consistently.
• Deliver a WOW customer experience to drivers, vendors, and teammates.
• Support team, adapt to needs of the yard and operations.

You'll be at the heart of our operation-keeping materials flowing and the yard running smoothly:

• Operate heavy equipment like a pro (material handlers, loaders, forklifts, skid steers & more)
• Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely
• Move and organize scrap materials for processing and recycling
• Perform pre- and post-trip equipment inspections (because safety starts with you)
• Spot maintenance issues early and communicate with our maintenance team
• Follow safety protocols like it's second nature
• Deliver a "WOW" customer experience to drivers, vendors, and teammates
• Jump in where needed-because teamwork is how we win
