Job summary

Mechanics Hub in Ames, IA is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and rebuild heavy construction equipment in the field or in our 9-bay shop. You will work on excavators, haul trucks, loaders, motor graders, and other fleet vehicles.

Minimum 5 years' experience required with heavy construction equipment, CDL Class B (A preferred), and your own tools up to 3/4" drive. We offer 100% company-paid medical insurance for you, IRA matching, PTO, and occasional bonuses.

Actively searching for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Ames, Iowa and surrounding areas (Des Moines region). This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding heavy construction equipment including excavators, haul trucks, loaders, motor graders, and specialized fleet vehicles. Work spans both field service and shop-based repairs, ranging from component rebuilds to complete machine overhauls. The work environment includes a 9-bay shop with overhead cranes, paint booth, diagnostic software, and well-maintained facilities.
