We’re looking for a Lead Mechanic who can do more than just turn wrenches. This is a leadership role for someone who can lead technicians, diagnose difficult equipment issues, keep projects moving, and set the standard for safety, accountability, and repair quality across an active utility and infrastructure fleet.

At Bear Electrical Solutions, our crews support critical electrical infrastructure projects throughout California — including traffic signals, roadway systems, utility construction, and intelligent transportation systems. The work your team performs directly impacts whether our field crews can safely and successfully deliver for our customers.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Leading and directing Diesel Service Technicians and shop personnel
• Prioritizing and coordinating daily repair and maintenance work
• Diagnosing and repairing bucket trucks, diggers, diesel trucks, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment
• Performing preventive maintenance to maximize fleet uptime
• Serving as the escalation point for complex diagnostic issues
• Reviewing and approving completed repairs before equipment returns to service
• Maintaining accurate repair documentation and work orders
• Coaching and mentoring technicians on technical skills and shop standards
• Coordinating field service repairs and responding to breakdowns with urgency
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards, DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and California fleet regulations
• Maintaining a safe, organized, and professional shop environment

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of diesel/heavy equipment maintenance experience
• 1+ year in a lead or supervisory role
• Experience leading or supervising mechanics or shop personnel
• Strong experience with: Bucket trucks; Hydraulic systems; Diesel engines; and Utility and construction equipment
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to perform and direct field service repairs at job sites
• Experience using diagnostic tools and fleet maintenance software
• CDL is a plus, but not required
• Must have own tools
