Job summary

Farnsworth Metal Recycling is seeking a skilled technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy equipment and machinery. The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, safety, and keeping critical equipment operating at peak performance across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, perform preventive maintenance, and document service activities to minimize downtime while adhering to safety

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment using manuals, schematics, and specs.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
• Read and interpret technical documentation and service manuals.
• Maintain safe work practices and high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and diesel issues.
• Diagnose problems using testing tools and manufacturer specifications.
• Repair or replace defective parts and systems as needed.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to improve reliability and extend life.
• Maintain accurate service records and part usage.
• Follow safety procedures and return equipment to service safely.
• Communicate status and timelines with supervisors.
