Job summary

Railserve is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, service, and repair heavy construction equipment at multiple job sites. The role requires travel, strong diesel and hydraulic knowledge, and hands-on mechanical work in outdoor industrial settings.

Experience with computerized diagnostic tools and a commitment to safety are essential. Overtime and travel are expected as part of supporting field operations and maintaining equipment uptime.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic required.
  • Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy construction equipment.
  • Experience using computerized diagnostic tools and systems.
  • Ability to lift and safely handle heavy tools and equipment.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work safely in outdoor and industrial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to job sites to inspect, service, and repair heavy construction equipment.
  • Inspect trucks, backhoes, bulldozers, and other heavy machinery to ensure safe operation.
  • Diagnose equipment faults using computerized diagnostic tools.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace faulty components and parts.
  • Perform cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Conduct major repairs and equipment overhauls as needed.
  • Collaborate with mechanics and operations teams to support field operations.
  • Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to leadership promptly.
  • Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation $27.00 - $36.00 per hour (based on experience)
