Job summary

Qualifications

• Three years' automotive repair and maintenance experience, including heavy trucks or heavy construction equipment engines and hydraulic components.
• Related training may substitute for up to two years of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, rebuilds, and maintains gasoline powered trucks weighing one ton or more and construction equipment.
• Overhauls engines, transmissions, clutches, and brakes.
• Repairs and replaces damaged body parts.
• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance checks and services on trucks and equipment.
• Prepares metal body parts for painting.
• Repairs tires.
• Overhauls and rebuilds hydraulic systems.
• Diagnoses machine failures.
• Repairs electrical systems.
• Welds metal parts using electric, acetylene, brazing, or cutting techniques.
