Job summary

W.D. Matthews Machinery Co. in Auburn, ME is seeking a Shop Service Technician to repair forklifts and related equipment at an onsite shop.

The role requires 2+ years of mechanical experience and familiarity with diagnostic programs. You will coordinate with the Shop Service Manager and work with a technician team, performing preventive maintenance and timely repairs. The job offers hourly pay of $25.00-$35.00, with a comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, and paid time

Qualifications

• At least two years of mechanical repair or comparable service experience.
• Corrective and preventative forklift maintenance is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of general maintenance requirements of various pieces of equipment.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with staff and customers and ability to establish effective working relationships and customer relations.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to adapt to changes quickly such as switching tasks or jobs with little or no notice.
• Proficient oral and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and inspect material handling and manlift equipment.
• Keep and maintain records, according to company practice, regarding all maintenance activities and other administrative actions.
• Respond to and resolve customer repair requests and complaints.
• Order and track parts ordered for a repair job.
• Occasional fabrication.
• Clean and wash equipment.
• Follow safety procedures such as isolating power sources and stored energy for safe maintenance and repair.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Other duties as assigned.
