Job summary

Surface Cycle is seeking an experienced mechanic to maintain health and reliability of all company equipment including milling machines, reclaimers, skid steers, and forklifts. You will perform diagnostic work and repairs to keep production running smoothly.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, reading schematics, performing routine maintenance, and coordinating with the Shop Manager and operators.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience repairing heavy construction equipment.
• Experience with roto-milling and related equipment preferred.
• Able to work long hours outdoors in various weather.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT and OSHA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe practices in all activities.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Read schematics and blueprints to assist repairs.
• Repair major components of milling machines and other heavy equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and on-site repairs.
• Communicate with Shop Manager and operators to schedule service.
• Maintain inventory needs and overtime readiness.
• Complete special projects as required.
