Job summary

Athens Services is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in California to service and repair trucks and yellow iron, including bulldozers, loaders, scrapers, and other equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose electrical and hydraulic systems, and document work orders and PM checklists.

The role requires 3 years of diesel equipment experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to safely follow OSHA rules.

Qualifications

• 3 years' experience in maintenance & repair of diesel heavy equipment (yellow iron).
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. Trade School Certification.
• Ability to troubleshoot and identify electrical/mechanical issues safely and timely.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance per established SRTs, ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Diagnose and repair differentials, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and air conditioning systems.
• Read service manuals and schematics; complete work orders and PM checklists.
• Maintain records and service logs for all equipment and tools.
