Job summary

Hamtramck Recycling L.L.C. is seeking an Experienced Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet of heavy equipment including semi trucks, roll-off trucks, excavators, and loaders.

You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems, and ensure all equipment operates safely and reliably. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of diesel experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and stay productive.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• CDL is a bonus, but not required.
• Welding/fabrication experience is a huge plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service work.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, electrical systems, braking systems, pneumatic systems, and DEF/DPF/aftertreatment systems.
• Complete inspections, oil changes, and general mechanical repairs.
• Utilize diagnostic software and scan tools when necessary.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Accurately document repairs and maintenance completed.
• Ensure all equipment is operating safely and reliably.
