Job summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our vehicle sustainment team in Hanahan, SC on the ALECS program. The selected candidate will provide maintenance support to multiple families of vehicles globally.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical systems, reviewing specifications, guiding technicians in fabrication, and ensuring conformance with engineering designs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years of automotive maintenance experience.
• Experience in maintenance operations, including repair of commercial or military equipment.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Research, plans, designs and develops new applications for electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
• Reviews contractor's standards, specifications and other documentation to determine mechanical engineering requirements.
• Designs, repairs or reviews gas and diesel engines, simple mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ventilation and/or instrumentation systems to meet specs.
• Gathers and correlates data and performs routine engineering research and development assignments.
• Guides and assists technicians in fabrication and installation of simple mechanical equipment and routine systems.
• May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to improve function and conformity with specs.
