Job summary

Aldridge Electric is seeking a Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic to join our energetic team in Washington, D.C. This role involves repairing and maintaining heavy equipment including trucks and drilling rigs, and performing inspections according to Federal regulations.

Candidates should have a CDL license (Class 'A' preferred), 5+ years of experience, and problem-solving skills. This is a union position and pays based on current union rates, including potential travel every other weekend.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment or diesel mechanics.
  • Willingness to travel for 2-week rotation.
  • Ability to perform Federal Highway Administration inspections.

What We Are Looking For

Aldridge is seeking a Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic and energetic team. This role will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment for our fleet department nationwide.

What You’ll Do
  • Repair and maintain heavy equipment including heavy and light duty trucks, large foundation drilling rigs, loaders, bobcats, and other support equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment, as well as heavy and light duty trucks.
  • Perform Federal Highway Administration inspections.
  • Assure that heavy equipment is in working order.
  • Respond to and communicate with internal customer requests for service.
Who You Are
  • CDL license Class “A” with manual endorsement desired
  • Willing to consider Class "B" with manual endorsement
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Natural engineering and problem‑solving sense
  • Welding and fabricating skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Dependable and reliable attendance
  • Able to commit to 2‑week travel rotation (home every other weekend)

This is a union position and base pay is determined by current union rates. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Employees assigned to this position title will also perform other occasional work assignments not mentioned above, including temporary assignments, training assignments, and other related duties.
