Job summary

Fisher Industries is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to repair and service heavy equipment across job sites in a fast-paced environment. You will diagnose issues, read schematics, and perform on-site repairs to ensure uptime on construction fleets.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to work under varied weather conditions. This is a on-site role with travel and occasional after-hours work.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Driver's license.
• Acceptable MVR per Fisher's Vehicle Program policy.
• Ability to work under adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicles and heavy equipment repair.
• Detail oriented, organized, and capable of working efficiently in a high-pressure environment with minimal guidance.
• Significant training in the mechanical field.
• Basic Computer Skills (Email, Smart Phone, Excel).
• Impeccable communication skills across diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose/troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment; diagnose the first time.
• Read schematics, diagrams, blueprints, etc. to assist with repairs/diagnostics.
• Diagnose complex electric/hydraulic/mechanical issues at various locations.
• Remove, replace, and repair major components on heavy construction, dirt moving, and rock crushing equipment.
• Perform routine services on heavy equipment.
• Perform on-site repairs in the field as needed in a fast-paced environment.
• Weekend and night work may occasionally be required; travel will be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SCOPE

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for safely and effectively repairing and servicing numerous types of heavy equipment and vehicles in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Above all, ensure that safe practices are followed in all aspects of daily activities
• Diagnose/troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues accurately the first time
• Read schematics, diagrams, blueprints, etc. to assist with repairs and/or diagnostics
• Diagnosing complex electric, hydraulic, and mechanical issues at various locations
• Remove, replace, and repair major components on all types of heavy construction, dirt moving, and rock crushing equipment
• Perform routine services on heavy equipment
• Perform on-site repairs in the field as needed in a fast-paced environment
• Weekend and night work may occasionally be required
• Travel will be required
• Perform other duties as assigned

BACKGROUND

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid Drivers license
• Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy is required
• Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat above 100 degrees, cold, and rain
• Must have strong technical knowledge of vehicles and heavy equipment repair
• Detail oriented, organized, and capable of working efficiently in a high-pressure environment with minimal or no guidance
• Significant training in the mechanical field
• Basic Computer Skills (Email, Smart Phone, Excel)
• Impeccable communication skills and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people and backgrounds
