Job summary

Montana Construction is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair a range of construction equipment in New Jersey. You will diagnose issues, perform routine maintenance, and document work performed for trucks, excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience with diesel/gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, plus the ability to read manuals and operate diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in mechanics preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel and gas engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and schematics.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and repair software.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair construction equipment, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and trucks.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake adjustments, and tire replacements.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issues.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
  • Ensure all work is completed following company and safety standards.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Assist with emergency repairs as needed.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Heavy EquipmentMechanicto perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of construction equipment, and machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, experience in diagnosing issues, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
