The State Highway Administration’s (SHA) District 3 is currently recruiting for a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor I in Prince George's and Montgomery Counties. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill current and future vacancies in this classification.
Nature of Work: This position is responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of all manner of powered and unpowered vehicles and highway maintenance equipment to include but not limited to; repair/rebuilding of automobiles, trucks light and heavy, tractors, mowers, weed eaters, chain saws, trailers, snow removal equipment, generators, front end loaders etc. Work will involve scheduling job assignments, planning and programming maintenance service schedules, supervising the tool room and shop-maintained parts inventory. This position is also responsible for maintaining records, files, writing reports, coordinating repair work with regular maintenance schedules in-house and with outside vendors. Additionally, this position has the responsibilities for facility maintenance and upkeep, the daily environmental compliance of the shop, yard and recycling management and recordkeeping. This position supervises the shops team of Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technicians I, II and III along with other assigned staff of SHA and or contractual employees as required.
