Job summary

PTi is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to analyze malfunctions, repair, rebuild and maintain power equipment including cranes, shovels, bulldozers, and mining machinery. The worker diagnoses defects, dismantles and reassembles equipment, and tests performance to assure efficiency.

This non-exempt role follows The McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act wage and fringe benefits set by the U.S. Department of Labor; on-site duties include preventive maintenance and safety compliance at Barstow, CA.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience inspecting and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic components on a wide variety of heavy-duty military vehicles using computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite; able to read and write clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance activities and equipment operations at local performance sites.
• Develop maintenance procedures, allocate workload, supervise contractor employees, and monitor equipment status.
• Monitor and manage relationships with the customer.
• Keep maintenance logs and report daily activities.
• Adhere to safety policy and environmental standards.
• Analyze malfunctions, repair and maintain power equipment including cranes, shovels, scrapers, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, grinders, and pneumatic tools.
